Just noticed that Tara has earned 30K from prize money this year. Nearly two thirds of that from the British grass court season.

A win today would take Tara inside the top 200, guarantee higher level ITF for the rest of the season and cover her tennis expenses for quite a considerable time.

Tara is now a break up in the second set

van Uytvanck is playing pretty poorly now and looks there for the taking, but we have seen matches like this turn around before, especially if nerves come into play. Keep doing what she is doing and Tara wins.

Got done just seconds before the rain came.
She dealt so well with Van Uytvanck's very low flat hitting, and kept a pretty impeccable length with her groundies throughout.

Brilliant win for Tara biggrinbiggrin - and perfect timing too beating the rain by about 2 minutes!

 

Tara was never going to get a better chance at a Wimbledon win, in the form of her life and with a friendly draw against an out of form opponent. However, with the opportunity comes extra pressure and Tara handled that perfectly with such a positive attitude throughout. Plenty of trademark forehand winners and Tara battled through all the close games. Really pleased for her that her grass court form is going to end on a high note with a big Wimbledon win (if not more than one!).
