Katie Swan has just arrived on court 16 for her Wimbledon debut. I'm sure she would have liked better preparation for today but hopefully she can put in a good performance.
Katie is looking much more confident and aggressive now, looking to dictate play when she can and showing a great attitude. It has made the second set much more competitive.
Babos runs away with the last couple of games and wins 6-2 6-3.
Katie did play much better in the second set and making her Wimbledon debut with no warm up matches is a tough ask so a decent effort overall. The backhand is the clear area for improvement and Babos was targeting that side, especially in the 1st set.
Now on to the three women's matches where the British players have decent chances of success (though if the forecast is correct they might not get on today)

Exactly. Decent-ish attempt by a young player who's barely played in the last couple of months and has obviously had some sort of injury niggle, as well as being a débutante to Wimbly tennis.
But she certainly looked rather out of her depth out there....
Tara on the other hand is a level above Van Uytvanck in the first. Aggressive, confident and consistent. No reason why Tara shouldnt have her eyes on teh top 150 and higher, she is very well rounded with the natural groundstroke talent we have always seen in her.
Tara doing enough to take the first set. Games with serve until an ugly game from both players ended with two dfs from Alison. Tara's first serve deserted her as she served for the set; she needed plenty of help from Alison to survive that game, saving 2 bps.
Tara breaks at the start of the 2nd set. Now 2-0*
