Gutted for Jo but her draw was horrendous and Eugenie played so well today. Don't feel like Jo really wasted it today. Has to be positive from this I dont think she could have done much more.
Onwards. Shame, with a kinder draw she'd have been a great shout for the second week but that's thr way it goes
Genie played unbelievable, Jo didn't take her chances at the start of the 3rd, and crucially missed a few relatively easy volleys, and there you go. Jo still played well, but a brutal draw, and Genie was up for this one, and she's out, no shame at all. Keep trucking is what I say.
Bouchard holding from 0-40 at 2-0 in the 3rd was the final turn of the tide; hey ho: Jo making the SFs at Eastbourne and winning a round here not too bad a grass season return in the end :)

I agree, but Jo or Heather winning today would have made it a lot better. Guess we're getting spoilt

It's crazy isn't it. A few years back we were really surprised and happy if anyone got through to the second round (men or women apart from Andy, Tim and Greg). Yeah we're doing alot better.

I was thinking here in terms of Jo's own return vis-a-vis last year (340 points this year trumping 200 last); Tara's return has been even better of course on that basis (198 points this year trumping 49 last)...with her R2 still to come
