Indy/paulisi, I see your top 500 thread and raise the stakes to top 10
With Johanna Konta inside the top 20, the first British woman to be so since Jo Durie, it is no longer unduly fanciful to imagine Virginia Wade, Sue Barker and Jo Durie being joined in the top 10 club by a 4th British woman since Steven's charts begin in 1975; and the first since 1983.
Live rankings have Jo just 631 points behind the #10 spot; if Jo lifts the Eastbourne title she would be just 261 points adrift. Then looking ahead to Wimbledon, with Jo losing in R1 last year (to Sharapova; say no more!) and being seeded this year...hurrah we have a woman seed at Wimby again after all these years!...the chances for significant points gain on last year are real enough.
Here's hoping it comes to pass that on the Monday after Wimbledon we have at least 3 to celebrate in the top 10: Murray A, Murray J, Konta J, plus any other dark horse who sweeps up on the rails

Just checked for possible dark horses but even if they win their titles Heather and Dom won't make the top 10 on Monday fortnight. Here's hoping for 3 then :)
Hmmm...maybe Dom not out of it if he and Dan lift the Nottingham title too

In the same spirit I do believe Andy will be in the top 10 for a few years yet and that opens up the possibility of him being joined by another. I am (very) optimistic by nature and if Kyle keeps improving then I think he could follow the likes of Dominic Thiem into the top 10 in the next couple of years. Several players currently in and around the top 10 are nearing the end and so there will be turnover and although the likes of Kyrgios and Zverev are attracting more buzz I like to think that Kyle's steady, down to earth approach will pay off in the long run.

So what has changed to allow that phenomenal improvement to me it seems to be belief and consistency. Perhaps a little more power, the margins are fine. It's a times like this you need ISF. Does anyone have any data? Where would you look.
And (having chalked up a win at the first time opportunity at the WTA Elite Trophy in which she is top seed) today's the day Jo ensures she is top 10 at WTA Year End 2016 :D :D :D
