Glad Ash Barty is out. Don't think she should have got a QWC; after all, it was her decision to take a break from tennis.
Vania holds after saving bp(s) *0-2
Gabi broken 0-3*
Looks like only Harriet will be playing the final round of qualifying

I'm not glad Ash B is out, but it riled me a little that when she got that WC for Ilkley, she eventually scratched, when a Brit would have loved that WC.
Brilliant day for both the men and women. I can't recall 8/9 getting through round 1 in the last 20 years whilst I have been following, but unfortunately don't have time to check when it last happened.
I've now found time to check, so here are some stats:
The 8 in round 2 equals the best in the last 20 years, achieved 3 times (1999, 2000 and 2001). In 1999 we had 6 men, while in 2001 we had 6 women - the only years in the last 20 when we had more than 4 of either sex
The 3 in final qualifying is the best since 1999, when all 3 (Danny Sapsford/Jamie Delgado/Arvind Parmar) qualified
Round 2 is the worst for percentage wins, particularly for the women. Of the 27 in round 2 this century (up to 2015), only 3 (Karen Cross in 2001, Naomi Cavaday in 2009 and Lisa Whybourn in 2010) won through, with just Karen making it to the main draw.
As others have doubtless already mentioned, Vania King won Wimbledon doubles. Paszek has twice been a Wimbledon singles QFist. Those are fine results for Ms Whybourn and Ms Taylor. And a great one for Ms Dart, clearly.
Well done to Harriet for reaching the final qualifying round, and she should have a chance in that match too. Could have been even better but for a heartbreaking loss for Katie.
Great for Harriet to reach the FQR. Her game seems to be really progressing again after not starting the year well, particularly when she looked rather bereft when I saw her surprisingly easily swept aside by Katie B on Katie's comeback match in Glasgow. 30 points so far takes Harriet up to 100 points precisely and close to the top 350.
For Katie herself it's not gone as seamlessly as I thought it might since then but there were maybe always likely to be hiccups after so long out. Good to see her form this last week and conquering these big nerves she has shown in her last two matches is hopefully very possible and can help lead on to good times. For now it's s big loss to have to take, but at least she still comes out of here with 20 more ranking points and up about 100 places into the top 500.
