Ed gets a French fella who apparently was ranked (barely) in the top 200 a couple of years ago and has been injured since then - apparently invited to play by the powers that be cos they obviously felt they hadn't insulted Sam Murray enough as it is
Albano Olivetti has used his protected ranking to gain entry.
FQR: (WC) Ed Corrie v Albano Olivetti (FRA)
FQR: (WC) Marcus Willis v Daniil Medvedev (RUS)
so why does Olivetti get to use a PR but Sam doesn't?

Olivetti's PR is 194, so high enough to get in. Sam's is somewhere in the 200s and not high enough to make the cut.
QR1: (qWC) Ed Corrie & Joe Salisbury CR 1370 (1006+264) vs (q8) Frank Moser & Franko Skugor (GER/CRO) CR 243 (125+118) level at 7-6(7) 4-6 12-12 - play suspended for the day after three hours & 14 minutes!
Ha ha, I sat next to both of them for the last set and a half. The young lad told me that he was being coached by him. Just walking in now, say hi if you see me - I'm in a blue t shirt and a black shorts!
I was talking to them all right at the end of the match, just as Marcus was being called away to do his interview for the Wimbledon website. Unfortunately I don't have intrnet access when I am there so checking messages to try and meet up with people is not easy. I will be there all day again tomorrow. Grey tracksuit trousers, not sure on shirt yet but dark blue waterproof top (sadly, as the forecast isn't good.) My mugshot has been posted on here a few times, so you may be able to recognise me.
40 min queue to get in. Why does everybody have to write their name and address? If you were a bad person, you might lie, or has that not occurred?
You don't need to lie! I showed my drivers licence on Monday and the security guard duly wrote "M. Stephen"
A 40 minute wait is not acceptable, especially if the objective is only to incorrectly write down the names of visitors. I'm sure I could have convinced them that my name was that of a terrorist suspect, it would have made no difference. If they think they are at risk of attack, they should invest in sufficient staff for bag searches.
I'll be going again tomorrow - is anyone else? I've been a poster on here for maybe as much as a decade but have net met a a fellow poster....
I'll be there, watching Marcus. Feel free to come up and introduce yourself. Light grey tracky trousers and beard. No internet acces when there though for me, so no good leaving me messages on here.
What a day. Just got home after 12 hours on the road and watching tennis. Does life get any better than this. Short summaries today as I need an early night before doing it all again tomorrow.
Ed Corrie - He played about as well as he could play. His ball striking was excellent throughout but everything else he tried just seemed to come off today as well. Drop shots, volleys, short angles. It was a master class and if he plays like that again tomorrow, I will be backing him to qualify.
Dan Cox - Started so well, but Novak was made of sterner stuff than de Bakker. Novak played a pretty solid match, but Dan couldn't maintain his level consistently. He may well feel this was a chance that got away.
Joe S - Just love watching his all action serv and volley style. I thought Krajicek would have too much for Joe today, and in the end, I was proved right - but only just. I thought Joe played a terrific match. Perhaps Krajicek's experience just ot him over the line.
Marcus "the Bomb" Willis - You just have to love this guy. Poor little stoppy g*t from Russia (aka Rublev) didn't know what hit him. Marcus just played in his own inimitable style, slicing that back hand short and low to the Rublev backhand and the poor lad was lost. He had no real answer to that, unless he was able to run all the way arround it to hit his forehand. Marcus sreved superbly, particularly at the end when I thought the pressure might get to him. Meanwhile, the Rublev racket was on the ground, he moaned about the liine calls, the bounce, somebody removing a rubbish bag and that one of the other players had "scratched the turf" behind the baseline (when dragging his back foot in the service action) and it was right where he wanted to stand and serve.
Nothing would give me greater pleasure tomorrow that to see Marcus qualify. He is box office when it comes to the entertainment stakes. I see he is the headline act on the BBC website again today.
A few scoops for you from today's visit. not all about Wimbledon, but gleaned from my various conversations with players today.
Evan Hoyt - Still recovering from a shoulder injury but hopes to be playing again in about 6 weeks. It has been troubling him for a while and when he flew to Portugal to play about a month ago, he already knew he was going to retire. He only travelled to avoid a big ITF fine.
Billy Harris - Recovering from a serious groin muscle injury (info courtesy of Evan Hoyt)
Alex Ward - Will be playing the European Clay Court Challengers after Wimbledon He is fully fit and there is no sign of a recurrence of his arm injury.
Liam Broady - Wants Federer on Centre Court next week. Thinks that is winnable

OK. Shirt selection made. I will be there from the start of Marcus' match, standing at the top of the bank above Court 14 (weather permitting). For ID, I will be wearing a blue La Manga Club sports shirt. It would really be good to meet some forumites and put a few faces to names, so if anyone wants to come up and say Hi, please feel free to do so.
I will be sticking around all day as I want to see the end of the Ed/Joe doubles match, and opefully their FQR to follow.
