Cracking stuff by Ed and Marcus. Mainly in Marcus' case as he's been off the tour a good bit of money as well to fund a good go at the tour again. Let's hope he continues straight off the back of this and uses the momentum from it rather than having a break.

Marcus has really struggled financially over the past couple of years, but he has kept going even when we felt it was time to call it a day.No matter what happens in the next match we are incredibly proud of his spirit and his humour.VERY proud mum!!

40 min queue to get in. Why does everybody have to write their name and address? If you were a bad person, you might lie, or has that not occurred?

You don't need to lie!  I showed my drivers licence on Monday and the security guard duly wrote "M. Stephen"

A 40 minute wait is not acceptable, especially if the objective is only to incorrectly write down the names of visitors. I'm sure I could have convinced them that my name was that of a terrorist suspect, it would have made no difference.  If they think they are at risk of attack, they should invest in sufficient staff for bag searches.

I'll be going again tomorrow - is anyone else?  I've been a poster on here for maybe as much as a decade but have net met a a fellow poster....

Sounds completely different to last year. I just walked in last year no one said anything. I did think it was a be lax on security given the climate we live in and it's qualifying for one of the biggest tennis tournaments of the year.

Just popped on the Wimbledon website blog for the day. Seems as bad as most English newspapers. A Michael Corrie won. Also refers to Dan Evans as if he is only appearing in the doubles.

looked to see who they get in the FQR - Ed must fancy his chances against a French player so low in the rankings that he didn't even get a wildcard for Roland Garros - makes you wonder how he even got on the entry list

I assume they mixed it up with their photographer's name or Berrer's! They also got Marcus's ranking wrong in their report yesterday (falling into the ATP when doubles ranking is higher than singles ranking trap - that's more the ATP's fault though, lots of us have fallen for that one at least once) and said he was the lowest ranked player in qualies when Olivetti is ranked lower. (an easy assumption to make, admittedly)

There's been no security checks in Notts at all, which after Manchester is somewhat of a surprise.

So pleased for Ed and esp Marcus - I too would absolutely love to see him get his day or two in the limelight at Wimbledon by qualifying. Imagine Marcus on a showcourt on BBC1! Who do they play next?

In the doubles qualifying Liam & Darren went down 3-6 6-4 6-0 to the Ratiwatana twins

Ed & Joe are on court now in a tight battle up 7-6(7) 4-6 5-4* against Moser/Skugor

Ed gets a French fella who apparently was ranked (barely) in the top 200 a couple of years ago and has been injured since then - apparently invited to play by the powers that be cos they obviously felt they hadn't insulted Sam Murray enough as it is

Albano Olivetti has used his protected ranking to gain entry.

FQR:   (WC) Ed Corrie v Albano Olivetti (FRA)  2nd on ct 16

FQR:   (WC) Marcus Willis v Daniil Medvedev (RUS)  1st on ct 14

Is it 5 sets for the gents in FQR. Or 3 and no tie break in the 3rd?
