It will be a kick in the teeth as he has played virtually no tour tennis this year. He has had financial issues, which meant he nearly gave up and the LTA dropped him from funding years ago, so it wouldn't look good for the LTA
Brydan, Alex, none of them get money - so why should Marcus?
Marcus has received way more money than most players - £25k a year, according to Gary, up until reasonably recently. His debts must be a lot less than most.
I'm not saying it's right - the LTA are well wrong in their vision and their strategy, in my view.
But I don't think Marcus's success will reflect badly on them in any way.
Agreed CD ( and Jimmy ), there have been many legitimate question marks the LTA could have re Marcus's progress and commitment over the years. There are others that I would question relative lack of help more. No kick in the teeth at all.
It would though be great to see Marcus qualify for Wimbledon MD and then to continue to do well on tour.
He has his own particular playing style and personality that just makes him such a good watch and welcome addition.

Surely more of a kick in the teeth for Marcus that he could be playing at this level consistently rather then being stuck at 700 in the world. Good luck to him either way
NO DEFINATELY NOT AT ALL. I was just implying that he must be gutted that he could and should be competing at this level consistently. Not having to go through pre q wc playoffs. I know what im trying to say but the words arent coming out properly. If you see what im trying to say...
