RE: Week 25 - Wimbledon Men's qualifying

Poor J. Ward had too much off a good thing last year and the karma gods have spoken

Ben Rothenberg @BenRothenberg 13m13 minutes ago Wandsworth, London

Lastly, Andy Murray opens against fellow Brit Andy Murray, then Lu or qualifier. All the unseeded Brits utterly hosed by draw. #Wimbledon

'utterly hosed' sums it up.....

I reckon that's a pretty easy draw for Andy going to bet on him winning round 1

'unseeded' are hosed, 'unseeded' goldfish.....

Actually, Evo with Struff is not as bad as all that.

Alex, Ali and Brydan have their work cut out (Liam too, of course....)

I'm assuming one of the Andy Murrays is unseeded though.

Couldn't be much more happy with that draw for Evans, though Struff's results are generally very unpredictable. Won his last two matches against Donskoy (albeit, 2013) and I think Dolgopolov would crumble against a partisan crowd. Getting ahead of myself obviously but then a glamour tie against Federer to CC to boot.

Awful for James Ward. A match against the World Number 1 on CC at Wimbledon is a dream for British players but the timing is all wrong, his ranking is going to collapse.

Think it'll be a great experience for Broady, though even he is going to lose points!

Edmund, Bedene and A.Ward have been drawn a short straw, though Kyle could win.

Good run, but not to be. Ed must hate tie breakers...

For the record:

FQR:  Albano Olivetti (FRA) WR 791 (CH = 161 in May 2014) [all 6'8" of him!] defeated Ed Corrie WR 358 (CH = 215 in October 2014) by 7-6(5) 7-6(4) 7-6(3)  cry

Fingers crossed for the unfinished doubles QR1.
