Week 25 - ATP 250 - Nottingham (grass)

Such a shame one of them had to lose, hope Liam can get over it quickly.

Good to see all the better signs of late from Liam. Be good to see him back to at least threatening the top 150 before too long

The weather is forecast to be really dodgy for Monday, and then a lot better for the rest of the week, Priesty.

To be honest, the forecasters here have had problems this last week, and may well be wrong, but if you could, you might want to try and re-arrange to go on Tuesday?????

cryno Not what I wanted to hear CD but cheers for the warning.

The problem is one of having to book the time off work in advance, quite a while before any weather forecasts are available, and having to get cover for regular commitments at work. Still will see what tomorrow brings....

I'm a moron, Priesty !  I thought you were talking about the Wimbledon qualifiers. So ignore me 100% !!!! (Although RJA doesn't seem to think the forecast is great in Nottingham for Monday either, and he has doubtless read the thread title properly, unlike yours truly). But best of luck ! Do hope you get to see some tennis at least.....

Haha smile getting a bit like that myself CD. Going to give it a miss today anyway, looks like I might only get 2-3 hours if I go which doesn't really justify a 2 hour (at least) round trip. Gutted cry never mind, will look ahead to Shrewsbury in September, at least that's indoors!

James loses the first set 6-1 in what can only be described as a pretty feeble effort.

Took the second 6-3, and was a double break up in the third, but Jaziri has just pulled one back. 4-2*

Never seen anything like it, James forgot how to play tennis for the last 5 games of the match. The look on Leon Smith's face in the crowd summed it up. Terrible.

Utter collapse in the final set from James.

Led *4-1 but lost the last 5 games with a level of tennis that was astonishingly bad.

I'd say 18 out of the 20 points required for Jaziri to win the last 5 games were unforced errors from James

I thought James had it when he came through the tight second game of the third set.cry

I think that is about right. Jaziri (who is basically hopeless on grass) didn't do anything in those 5 games accept hit slice backhands and powder puff forehands down the middle. To lose this match under any circumstances would have been a poor result but to lose it like that was appalling.
