Am in Eastbourne and have to say very impressed with Dunne. Outhit brengle from baseline but her opponent was just too solid. She has a great attacking game. Yes Laura is playing xu

Really encouraged and glad to hear that she's continuing to develop her game. I really like Katy but was worried a few years ago that she didn't have enough ammo to compete from the baseline against higher ranked opponents - really glad to hear that she's playing well, looking forward to see how she progresses the rest of the season
Yet more amazing luck for Laura. McHale out, and replaced by a should win match against an ALT doubles specialist, massively slumping singles player with just 4 wins in the last 10 months, and none of those in a main draw match. Q1: (WC) Laura ROBSON (GBR) 308 v. Yifan XU (CHN) 282 (CH 148, Jul. 2015)

Laura recovers from 5-6 0-40* then wins the tie break in the second set to win 7-5 7-6(4)
Given the opponent, not convincing, but this is the sort of match Laura will get lots more of in the post-Wimbledon ITFs and she needs to be able to scrap out these wins.
Hopefully nothing too serious with the right leg injury, and gladly she didn't have to play a third set.
