WOW, that's brilliant. Have to say I was fearing the worst; managed to catch a bit of it at the start of the second and said to someone that the writing was on the wall. Jinxed Kvitova like a kipper :D
Jo's opponent is going to have to play twice in a day, as Petkovic/Makarova came off after just one game because of rain.
The schedule for tomorrow looks ridiculous though.
There are two R3 matches still to complete. There are two courts they're playing on tomorrow.
So, you'd expect each of the incomplete matches to be up first, one on each court, to get them finished and give players the fairest rest.
But, the two R3 matches are scheduled one after the other, on the same court.
That court starts play half an hour AFTER the other court; which has the four QF on it.
o is foutrth of the QF scheduled, and may well not get on tomorrow as there's a 1 in 3 chance of rain through the afternoon.
British scheduling has not been at its finest over the last few weeks with neatness for organisers often seeming to come ahead of fairness for players and the spectator experience.
The scheduling has worked out fine for Jo though, as for the second time in 3 rounds she will face an opponent who has already played on the same day.
That wasn't the case today though, and that was an excellent result against a top grass court player. Being at her home tournament seems to give Jo a big lift.
