MD ones reasonably fair enough. Great for Paul though Jack may feel unlucky. Very lacking in tennis this year but has come back in decent nick.
Re Q WCs, Evan and Aidan over Brydan ?? Brydan left some of his work a bit late, as he has done before, but it has been on grass including beating Jan and he is much better ranked. I know Evan has had his injury issues and has done well in futures but I think he in particular is a lucky lad
Crazy how the Wimbledon wildcards are only announced today, less than a week before the tournament commences. Zero time for players awarded to plan & prepare. This needs to be done more professionally - 6 weeks in advanced.
6 weeks is a long time - well before the grass court season. But surely they could have made it a week or two earlier, given that they always hold some back anyway.
I'm not sure how relevant Cam's point is in practice, though.
Surely most of the wildcard people will have known they were almost certainly wildcard picks anyway.
And for those who didn't, they would have expected to play qualis, say, or other grass tournaments, so would be preparing pretty much the same.
The only picks I would question is re Fran (did she know and if so, why was she playing clay?), and Cori Gauff (if she hadn't been told, it would be a bit weird to suddenly find out a few days before. But I assume she's coming for Wimbly juniors anyway - haven't checked)
The others will all be preparing for the whole grass season, as a whole. So I'm not sure what difference it would make.
Add: re above tweet, yes, withdraw head from parapet very quickly.....
