There's a lot of space and flexibility left for Q wildcards - unusually so, from recollection of previous years.
I do so hope they use them and don't just give them to next in the queue players.
Personally, I would give one to Jay Clarke - on the basis that there should be a rule that the top youngster gets a Q wildcard every year (I'd like to for Ryan too, but top youngster would have to be top youngster: anything else seems to be pushing it). For the girls, obviously, this is fine as Katie has hers anyway.
Definitely Dan Smethurst. On the post-injury and playing well theory. Dan Cox almost makes the same argument.
Four from the play-offs.
And anyone else who makes a good argument - let them all stand before the committee and put their case - most passionate and best jokes wins
I think you have to wait and see how the play off goes. Obviously the 2 finalists get in but you can give a few more based on good performances there. Of course if someone plays badly in the first round there you really can't then give them a wild card without making a mockery of things.

They can add more discretionary wild cards later and they usually fill empty QWC places from penultimate round losers in the playoffs, using some discretion if there are fewer WCs left than there were players in that penultimate round. However, I doubt they'd give a QWC to a player who'd lost early in the playoffs if someone who'd got further than them in the playoffs wasn't going to get one.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
If nothing else, and especially given what's been said here about possible/probably retirements, it's really wonderful to see the draw with Milton, Willis, Cox, Smethurst, Marsalek etc. - here's wishing them all luck (as well as the youngsters, of course).
I think Dan S will be rather happy that scope seems to have been left to give Q WCs to all of the last 4 !
And I agree with what Steven said that not having been prepared to pick any further initial WCs, no matter how everyone now actually performs ( and even if Dan S does push through a perceived 'easy' draw ), it must be doubtful whether a play-off R1 or R2 loser would be given a WC before one of the last 4.
Dan S anyway is a guy who in many ways deserves a bit of luck.
The loaded quarters are the first two with in the third one Gabb vs Cox maybe playing for a place though would be good to see Jay say cause some ructions.
Just another thought, if we are heading for the last 4 getting WCs there was maybe more of a case for 8 seeds so that at least two from the ranking list were in each quarter.

Alex has earnt the his with some decent recent challenger performances and my feeling is that Wimbledon Qualifying is a top quality challenger with comparatively big fiscal rewards for progress. Very well done to him.
As for the junior boys it would be great to see them both go deep in the Roehampton grade 1 and then Wimbledon juniors, if they had done that anytime over the last year at any junior GS, I agree perhaps a qualys wild card as well, but without that sort of track record I think it is a big step up.
