Liam after a slow start played a very good match, and on another day would have won this, had 0-40, 30-40, 30-40 in the final set, but big serving by his opponent on most of those points made it very difficult to convert. Liam hadn't been under any pressure either during the final set up until the 10th game which makes even more galling. That game started with a dead net cord winner for Zemlja. The centre court although playable had exceptional uneven bounce, having said that probably a little better than last year.

I Adam and Eve that's a good draw for Lloyd, if still no doubt a fair challenge, against the Pryzsiezny of just now and Joe running him so close in the FQR tends to indicate that. The real issue may just be how good is Lloyd on grass, it not appearing to be his best surface.
Well, well, well. Indy's optimism may eventually be proved to well founded: Lloyd's just taken the first set by 7-6(5).
This match really changed at 7-6, 2-2 40-0. When MP suddenly stopped playing and complained about the standard of the courts, supervisor came out and basically said it is what it is, we were thinking just retire then, and give Lloyd the win, but then his level went up, and he edged the win.
I did think the courts had improved a little from last year, but court 1 in particular offers a regular volume of ankle high bounces.
