QR2: Joe Salisbury WR 710 defeated (q7) Axel Michon (FRA) WR 235 by 4-6 7-6(6) 6-4
****
FQR: Michal Pryzsiezny (POL) WR 365 vs Joe Salisbury WR 710
Having downed the WR 235, Joe should find the WR 365 a cakewalk...
That's a career best ranking scalp too, and Joe served it out to love very impressively
Unfortunately, he still has to beat a former top 60 player this afternoon just to get any points - the Pole, who beat Dan Evans in straight sets in the 5th rubber to beat us in that Davis Cup tie in Liverpool back in 2009, has a career high of 57, which he set in 2014. I think the drop since has been injury-related, so I doubt it'll be anything like a cakewalk, I'm afraid.

That was meant to be tongue in cheek, Steven. I doubt it as much as you do.

Ah, fair enough
Anyway, Joe does seem to be in good form at the moment (he looked good at Surbiton playing doubles too) so hopefully he can give 'the Polish Federer' a decent match!

Never seen Joe Salisbury play before. In the dip-in game that I've just watched, he's a good advertisement for doubles as practice for singles: good serve, nice work at the net. 4 all in the first set.
