A lengthy game with a few GPs for Laura, but failed to convert, and a break.

Bad loss for Laura. 61 63 a poor scoreline against that opponent. Lost a very long game at *3-4 where she had a number of game points.

One win isn't really enough to suggest a meaningful step forward when followed up as it was today.

Onwards I guess. She'll probably end up reaching the third round of Wimbledon or something lol.

Hard to tell how it went without seeing the match, I guess, but the pattern of the scoring was very much in keeping with how it's gone over the last few weeks.

My suspicion is that Lepchenko was not representative, as she has been out a few weeks and was never particularly good on grass or have a game suited to it. Siniakova has a more "Czech" game that's hard and flat and solid from the baseline, which is tough if you move badly and are short of confidence.

End of grass season would actually be pretty welcome, then *hopefully* winning matches (at a lower level) won't come as such a shock.
