RE: Week 24 - WTA Premier ($846K) - Birmingham, UK - Grass

Great result from Laura. Is this the true start of her comeback?

Should give her a much needed boost of confidence and back to back matches.

The net 12pts puts her under 300 - just ahead of Mandy.

Yay, go Laura, I did think she had been getting better ( though was clearly a matter of debate ), but it was a slow slow process and one thing she needed was a big win.

And no matter Lepchenko's ( lack of ) grass prowess that counts as a big win

13 precious points not to mention a confidence boost. What might that do for her ranking?

At last, I just hope it's not the opposite of a blip, but a real start of her comeback.

Back into top 300 by my calculations.

Shame Harriet ran out of gas. She probably should have won thr first but dug in and did a great job in the second. Impressed with that.

Well done, Ms Robson. Great work, whatever happens, from Ms Burrage and Ms Dart. Commiserations to Ms Boulter - Pironkova was a terrible, terrible draw. One to give one's all but not to be upset if one doesn't win.

Stoked to see Laura get the win, I was really disappointed with how she played last week, having seen her look so sharp in practice, but I always had the feeling, better times were just around the corner. It's only 1 win against an opponent who was probably there for the taking, and tomorrow will probably be a better barometer, but it's still a big win, given the last 6 months.
