Week 24 - ATP 500 - Aegon Championships, The Queen's Club, London (grass)

Kyle was very good for two sets. Third set Andy upped his level and Kyle just dropped his levels a bit. Cracking match though.

Kyle did himself proud today and took full advantage when Andy got tentative after a fall.
Some great play on both sides of the net and lovely interviews at the end.
We are very lucky to have them both!

Yes I agree wholeheartedly, the mentoring Andy has offered Kyle goes above and beyond, I can't think of another example of an elite player in their prime doing anything similar but would be delighted to be corrected. Kyle's appreciation of and desire to make the most of such an opportunity is also fantastic. Great for British tennis and hopefully setting a trend that will really build the game at the highest level in the UK.

I was completely wrong about the rain, Bob

Thoroughly enjoyed the Kyle/Andy match yesterday.

Haven't watched much of Kyle the last year but I thought his backhand was MILES better than it used to be - a really different shot, both technically and in the net effect.

Makes him so much more balanced as a player. Great stuff.

Not Queens related but has anybody seen that the young star Zverev has knocked the great Fed out in the semis in Halle, in 3 sets?

Big win that.

He's a dream player.

As RJA says, a little prone to theatricals, but a real star nonetheless. My fave of that batch, although there are some other excellent ones too.

He's certainly got a beautiful game to watch hasn't he? Superbly effective too and an excellent match player considering his age, which I suppose explains the occasional tantrums!

Zverev should be seed at Wimbledon. Trying to work out the last teen to be seeded there ....

He certainly will be seeded now. The grass adjustment only applies within the top 32, and he will now have a pretty good one anyway which is only likely to push him higher.

Andy plays superman in the final. Superman has no emotion on court

Federer is still very rusty, but a very good win for Zverev nonetheless. First teenager to beat Federer since... er, Andy.

Zverev and Coric remain my picks from that batch to go the furthest.

Great comeback that. Won 12 of the last 16 games, breaking Raonic four times in the process.
