No sign of a draw as yet, but I thought I'd flag the fact that the Hector Nunns article in today's Times to which I referred earlier on the Surbiton singles thread had a little footnote:
Aljaz Bedene, the British No 2, has replaced Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the main draw at the Aegon Championships at Queen's Club. Tsonga has pulled out with an adductor problem.
I posted this in this weeks entry but thought I'd repost here.
Does anyone know if qualifying at queens gets full spectator wise? I see from the LTA website it is limited to 500 people each day.
What time were you thinking of going?
I went once, a few years back, and it was fine at midday. No problem getting in.
Just a note, they won't let you in at all if it's raining - i.e. you can't get access to the indoor courts AND they won't even let you into the grounds.
AND they had no idea when play would start (i.e. it was still damp but there was no information as to starting times etc. etc.)
I've no idea on the answer, but I'm sure some Brits will welcome the prize money associated with turning up for qualifying - E1170
Well no Brits made it into qualifying (those that would have are in the main draw) although there are 3 qualifying wild cards which should result in some British participation.
Actually it is a good draw for Alex, the seeds in his section are (6) Young and (4) Millman neither of whom he would be expected to beat but they clearly represent his best chance. I don't think he stood any chance against (1) Anderson, (2) Pospisil or (3) Mannarino.
