SF:  (1) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 159 (78+81) defeated (3) Jonny Marray & Adil Shamasdin (CAN) CR 208 (92+116) by 4 & 4

Disappointed for Jonny, but delighted for the defending champions.

And a repeat of last week's final against their good friends:

Final:  (1) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 159 (78+81) vs (4) Purav Raja & Divij Sharan (IND/IND) CR 217 (103+114)

Not happening at the moment:  first set down the pan by 4-6, though it could easily have been 2-6.  cry

The boys served for the second set at 5-3, but the Indians broke back, helped by a double fault on set point!  cry

Is it a scheduling thing re next week's tournaments?

Otherwise why on earth would you put the men's doubles final on so late on the Friday, two days before the end of the tournament?

It's obvious that everyone will have gone home by now - seems a big shame.

What's wrong with tomorrow ? Or Sunday?

The guys are going to have to win 2 TBs to retain their title.

Not to be - again!  The defending champions are dethroned:

Final:  (4) Purav Raja & Divij Sharan (IND/IND) CR 217 (103+114) defeated (1) Ken Skupski & Neal Skupski CR 159 (78+81) by 6-2 7-6(3) cry

Very good question with tomorrow's schedule being :

Court A : women's singles SFs followed by men's singles SFs

Court B : women's doubles final

Well at least they keep getting RU points, which is not bad at all - though I'm sure they'd prefer the championship points. Raja and Sharan are really dangerous, though, so no shame in losing to them. On to the next tournament ...

With Queen's being a 500 it will have qualifying draw for doubles which will start tomorrow. The Skupski's might well have the wild card place in that draw.

Give the Skupskis a Doubles MD wildcard at Queens and then that problem would be sorted !

But, OK, if there's a good reason, that's fine....
