Unfortunately Tomic normally tries on grass and having basically tanked the whole clay court season he should be pretty fresh.

Just for the record, Dodig is out of the hunt for points this week:  he & Ram (2) have given Pavic & Venus a walkover into the semi-final.  Oh, what might have been... hmm

Gilles & Freddie have just beaten the top seeds, Bops & Mahut (CR 11), by 3 & 5 & will be no pushovers.

Mahut failing to replicate last year's final here means he will drop 60 ranking points and Jamie will be back to WR 1 on Monday.

I had been thinking that Dom & Raven beating Mahut & Bopanna might be needed. But still go and win anyway, boys !

Phew I thought the writing was on the wall in the first-set tie-break, when Dom & Raven were *2-5, then *4-6, & when the second set went by the board so quickly, I really feared the worst!  disbelief
