I think it was posted recently that he is having a rest after making it to the last 4 of the US college finals.

Correct.  After a long college season, Cam is missing the grass season to rest.

He is down on the list for a US hard court 25K futures in Tulsa for Week 25 - from 20/06

Annoying for Neal and Smethers to lose in qualis to the guy who shouldn't be there - who then goes on to make the final.

Well done to Copil though - he's got a game that's easy on the eye.

In my view a rule change is long overdue. If you are high enough ranked to have made the main draw (based on the original cut off) you shouldn't be allowed to sign in for qualifying.

Completely agree. Can't see it happening though and I don't blame players for taking advantage of the current rule, it's the rule itself that's at fault.

Wholeheartedly agree with all of above.

But, perhaps as significantly, in retrospect, Dan Smethurst's scoreline [(q1) Marius Copil (ROU) WR 182 defeated (q7) Dan Smethurst WR 496 7-6(3) 4-6 6-3] is even more impressive than it appeared at the time. He took more games off Copil than either Dan Evans or Bjorn Fratangelo, and the same number as Tobias Kamke. Hope it's an encouragement!

Steven, on your tables Dan S, Milts and Bambo are playing Surbiton again in week 24!

Oops! Thanks smile I usually check at the end for those who played last week but aren't playing this week and copy down the "last played in ..." lines according - must have forgotten this time. Strange that I didn't notice it through quite a few updates and nobody had pointed it out on Twitter either. Now corrected, anyway.
