Yes this has been an utterly appalling performance and the injury explains why!
Pull out of Brum, get yourself together and fit, and come back firing please Jo. That was a mess and you don't owe anyone anything, no need to stay on court potentially making things worse. She should have stopped early in the second.

Injury to hip/adductor area.
Whether entirely due to that or not, Jo was unable to hit through the court and finish off points.
Zheng's defence at time's was remarkable and inspiring, and she thoroughly deserved the win.
Another really disappointing result an another lacklustre performance from a Brit, in a tournament to forget for the most part on the home front.
The honourable exception, Tara, plays last up. Who had Tara as last woman standing? Anyone?
Just watched another player who's been away from singles for 18 months or so, slightly different circumstances of course, but here's Ashleigh Barty, now looking noticeably more muscular, playing an absolutely mesmerizing set of tennis 6-0 in 18 minutes for the loss of 7 points against a decent grass court exponent in Hlavackova. Played every shot in the book with aplomb, and clear precise point construction finished with winner after winner into the spaces that had been constructed and earned, not gambled on short angles or tight lines.
A remarkable comeback so far, last week and this. Really happy to see her so comfortable on court again.
I also read that in her period away from tennis, she had a none too shabby first class cricket batting average of 46.60! These over-achievers, huh?
I often think that Ashleigh Barty's three GS doubles finals before 18 is one of the most underrated accomplishments in women's tennis of recent years. She must have quite a bit of maturity, too, to know when to pull away and when to come back. Presumably she'd be a candidate for a Wimbledon WC?
Jo's comments on the match and her injury:
"I picked up a little niggle during that match, but I felt it was something I could manage, that's why I thought I could finish, but I'll just be looking to take care of it and be ready for the next event. I wasn't distributing weight as well as I used to; if you know me well, I usually put more weight on my right side, and I wasn't able to do that today. Credit to her; she played a lot of balls and got a lot of balls back. I think there were a lot of high-quality points."
They've pulled it round and earn the MTB
Sevastova playing inspired stuff at times, and carrying the team a bit. But they are clearly getting on as a team, they've scarcely stopped giggling.
