I thought that was absolutely shocking from Laura, especially from 4-1 up in the 2nd set. Every so often the talent makes a brief appearance, then back to a series of unforced errors and failed ball tosses.
I should really stop watching her matches for the rest of this year, give her some time to find her form.
35 UE, 20 winners.
An improvement of late, but still, obviously, hard to win matches like that.
52% won of 54% first serve in.
There should be some sort of quota system for a match for fluffed and caught ball tosses though, if you cross a certain number you should concede the point. Laura was at Vika levels today - I counted at least 30 ball tosses un-served and caught.
It's around average $25K to low $50K level standard match play as a whole - flashes of ~$100K stuff, and the same amount of sub $10K too.
Nevertheless, I presume she has MDWC at Birmingham & Eastbourne?
I never saw the match so cannot comment on how Laura played. I thought she would beat screecher de brito however it looks as though the consistency is not there. When the wild cards cease after Wimbledon will be the true test whether she has the desire to grind out results in 25k and dare I SAY it 10K tournaments
