Yes it's a pity 2 byes went begging but presumably the likely takers are all down at the Surbiton 50k...best laid plans and all that!!

Presumably the LTA save $1k+ too to put to other uses...a couple of fine lunches perhaps?! :(

That's why you'd have to call round and find an 'unlikely' taker.

I think it's poor of the LTA, Notts and the women players.

The numbers of BYEs at Surbiton (men) is horrible, but to have byes in a WTA event (in GB, where we have so few competitions) is dreadful.

Not sure it's fair to blame the players (without knowing if they even knew there were spaces available and could get there in time); if any did turn down a chance like this it would defy belief, I agree
