I don't think Freya did very well today. For me i think today confirmed to me a MDWC isnt ready yet, but she should go straight into qualies.
Zheng is one of the weakest top 100 players on grass, her game doesn't translate onto it at all and she is horrendous at dealing with biting slice and spin (why she struggled so much again Em in Brum last year). Freya was exposed as being, understandably, one dimensional and didn't have enough variety to pose any threat, it was too samey.
But by gosh there is potential there. So much good stuff to be improved. She's got a good team and just needs more time to develop.
A great experience in a tour event. In a year she'll be winning a match like that i have little doubt.

I saw her 18 months ago in Glasgow when she was 17 I think she was still a junior but had a great game
