Week 23 - WTA International ($250K) - Nottingham, UK - Grass

Taco could have been awarded a wildcard, but Tara seems not to be an LTA favourite.

After Jo, Heather and Naomi, she was the most successful of our players on grass 2015, and was still put through the qualifying WC tournament. When she won, they also gave a place to the RU. Altogether, she had to play 21 matches in as many days in June 2015.

I'm not a doubles fan bit Im astounded that Laura and Freya got a doubles wild card and Taco got nothing despite being an established team. I really dislike favouritism that some players get. Laura is being spoilt with no justification I really hope she doesn't get a Main Draw Wimby WC. She should be working her way back. It's a disgrace really. Hope Tara sticks it up them by qualifying in singles. D

Guys you may be barking up the wrong tree when it comes to Tara trying to get in with Conny this week.

Perhaps Tara and Connie didn't sign in?

To be fair, Tara was based at NTC for a good number of years, with completely free coaching and everything. She's received a huge amount from the LTA compared with a lot of other players.

However, maybe like Joko, the best thing to happen to her is that NTC folded.....

Mega congrats to both Tara an Katie though, on their results today - awesome smile

Every so often there are these enigmatic little nuggets.
I think those might be the days that the famous hat's band might be a little too tight

All I know is that Lisa tried to get in with Tara, of course it maybe after Tara was unable to secure a berth with Conny, so any things possible. But Freya/Laura were always the big favourite's to claim the last WC spot.

I thought there would be 2 doubles WCs available, and only 1 has been used...

There are at least 4 tournament preview stories in the Nottingham Post, featuring Jossanna, Naomi, Freya and Jo...

Tara on. Coverage available. She looks in good nick, and fizzing with energy and enthusiasm.
Good luck.

Playing very well in the early stages. Wonderful to watch.

Aoyama plays pretty much how you would expect a borderline doubles specialist to play - very exposed when made to have to use the full court
