I'm not sure she won't play on grass. She hasn't entered any ITFs for w/c 13 June; it's possible she's been offered a wildcard, probably Qs, to Edgbaston. In which case, she'll also hope to play either in Eastbourne Qs, and Wimbledon MD; or Wimbledon Qs.

Her grass results 2015, IIRC, slightly lagged Tara's, were about par with KatieD's, and ahead of the rest.

Think someone else on here said a while ago that Mandy was by-passing the grass this year hence my remark; time will tell :)

  • Sakkari (5)
  • Cepede Royg

None of them easy but this is $100k, I'd probably pick out Hogenkamp out of those if given the choice.

A great performance with a fantastic second set and all over in an hour, well done, Mandy! A handy 6 points, but the real bonus would be if Mandy could get a R1 win. That would be an additional 13 points and a new CH for sure.

Nothing much wrong with A, but Mandy is a much better player.

Through into the biggest main draw of her life; she previously qualified for another 100k, but lost in R1.

All of the possible match-ups look winnable. And everybody else at this tournament would prefer to still be elsewhere, and is recovering from a painful loss at their biggest opportunity of the year. Mandy, au contraire, will be quite happy with a run in Marseille.

I see Mandy considers herself from Gibraltar. Interesting when you consider in some sporting worlds they have their own identity.
