I'm thinking of going to watch in the next couple of days. What are viewing facilities like for the outside courts? The couple of times I have turned the stream on for the outside court there has been absolutely no one there watching. Are you allowed to watch? There seems to be space there to watch but no chairs or anything.
Any other impressions of the venue, and is it easy to park?
I have just returned after an absorbing match between Sam and Liam with Liam, well supported by a lot of club members and family in a total crowd of 200, just falling short in the end.
If you sit at the top of the stand between Centre and Court 1 you can turn round and see court 1. Alternatively there is a small stand at one end of court 1, plus I noticed Lu's coach plus at least one other down the side adjacent to Centre. There is adequate seating adjacent to court 2, or you can stand (or view from the back of the end Centre Court stand).
Parking at the club is for members/blue badge holders/ accredited personnel but there is plenty of parking on the surrounding streets. Alternatively tickets include free use of Metrolink to West Didsbury, which is just 100 metres away.
I was looking at Paulsi's twitter, apparently he was the only person watching the Glasspool match. I loved going to the Nottingham challenger as there was a good feel around the grounds, but I can just see myself hating this tournament but might go because my mom would love to watch Dustin.
If it rains, is there anywhere I can go inside and watch the French Open and have a bite to eat?

I have just had a look at Paul's twitter feed and see that he tweeted just before the start of the match from the small stand. There were a handful or two of people later on, plus about 15 'part-timers' like myself watching occasionally from Centre (you can see the back of that stand on the left of Paul's pic).
The friend I was with went to get food at one point and had no problem finding something suitable, but I have no idea whether there is anywhere to watch the French Open. Anyway the weather forecast for Manchester is quite reasonable this week. Getting a ticket may be more of a problem for Friday onwards though.
Dan came out and literally complained from the first point through to the last point. He even turned on some of his own supporters at one point and was mean to them. I didn't want him to win (with such a crappy attitude)and he didn't play well enough to win. Not impressed!
I watched chunks of Lloyds match. I like his game and he's got plenty of shots. He had break points in the first game of the second set. If he'd gotten that game it may have taken a different direction. However Lu seemed to take control and was never behind from that Point.
I loved Liam / Sam match. Unlike evo's it was played in good spirits, had lots of good rally's, passing shots and volleys. A great grass court match. Liam had an extensive injury time out in the final set with ongoing treatments. You wouldn't have guessed he was injured, as he moved so well. At one point diving across court full stretch for a winning volley.
It's been a while since I've seen Liam play this well. Sams serve got motoring middle of set 2 and got better and better. That was the main difference between them.
Brydan / ed. ed could have won this in 2. I thought he was playing the better tennis. As with evo's attitude brydan needs a good shake. Injury time out for ed in set 2. His form did slip a little. I left at the start of set 3 as my fingers were turning blue.
Btw.... I was told off (as others were) for excessively using my phone. Apparently smaller taunaments are doing this to try to combat point by point Ilegal gambling. Whilst it's certainly a problem this isn't the way to do it.

Interesting day. Seems that there were a few forumites around today. It didn't feel that windy, but there were some gusty periods. it was very warm until 2.30
When I was there at 10.55, I was the only person on court 1, but Nick Weal followed alongside Fitzy and Lloyd's friends and a couple of others.
There is now a small stand behind court 1 and some seats around court 2. Parking is limited to street parking, unless you are well connected.
Bags are searched on entry, bands have to be worn as well as purchasing tickets and the mobile/internet rule is being enforced strictly.
There is a food hall which looked ok, but I'm not sure they had the tennis on( not that there was much play in Paris)
As for the tennis - Glasspool has all the weapons. Dominated the first set, with Lu making lots of errors. Second set, Lloyd's first serve wasn't consistent enough and Lu cut out the errors and started to play well.
Lloyd always looked capable of breaking and despite going a break down in the final set, did break back only to give it away at the end.
Didn't see any of Evo's match, but he sounded frustrated.
Missed most of the first set of Liam's match, but I have to say he played very well. Dominated the second set and did well in the third set to break back, only to lose it right at the end. Excellent crowd for that match including a big Broady family following. Groth didn't look very fit - breathing hard and his serve was very hit and miss. Too many double faults. Liam had the better ground shots.
Corrie v Klein was tight, but Corrie was the better player and deserved to win. Klein needs more matches.
I don't know. I'm sure there are a lot of people getting paid a lot of money to make those decisions. It's like banning cars for everyone because some people speed, drink and drive etc. Just seems excessive and impossible to police. The security staff behaved like bouncers in a rough nightclub. It's going to discourage people from attending live matches - especially younger generations. We should be doing everything possible to promote the sport especially to younger generations. Just my opinion
