Hear, hear. Well done, Mr Corrie. Not a bad effort from Mr Bambridge, either.

Luke loses in straight sets, miserable start to British qualifying with one winner from over 30 Brits in qualifying over the sexes. And Ed had only one pesky to take care of. Lookin at the main draws for men and women of we have any more than 4 in total across the draws in Round 2 that would be above average.

Is that partly because those good enough to qualify, already have WCs through to the MD.

Generally yes, and in Eastbourne the WC girls have done very well in MD R1

I'm confused - today is Monday right - why no first round action?

It will be interesting to see how Lloyd does today. His draw is absolutely terrible as Lu is a fine grass court player (made the quarter finals of Wimbledon in 2010 beating Roddick along the way) so if he can keep it competitive I would consider that a very positive sign.
