Week 22 - Challenger (€42,500) - Aegon Trophy, Manchester, UK (Grass)

Looking at the draw sadly our strongest hopes are all in two sections together. I suppose the flip side being we should have at least one and possibly 2 qualifiers.

That's a very good win for Josh as Keelan is a pretty adept grass court player.

Top section of the draw has just opened up dramaticaly as the Nº1 seed hands a W/O to his opponent. Wonder if that means there has been a withdrawal from the MD and he has been bumped up. Sadly though, there are no Brits left in that section.

Was just about to post "Bradley "Jammy" Mousley:  gets a walkover against the q1, Adrián Menéndez  disbelief !" & comment on the opening-up of the draw, but I see you beat me to it, Bob. wink

These 2 have played each other 8 times, and the H2H is 4-4!

2012 Great Britain F12 Futures GBR Hard 16 MILTON 6-7(2) 4-6

Smethurst-Bossel isn't as interesting as the match up above, their H2H is 1-1, with Dan winning in 2010, and the foreigner winning in 2014

I am willing to grant Mousley a bit of luck given that he lost 12 months of his career at the age of 18 when he tested positive for ecstasy. Yes it was a stupid thing for a would be tennis professional to do but kids do stupid stuff and the punishment was needlessly excessive.

Main draw now out. Evo is seeded 3rd and in the same quarter as the Frat-boy. I imagine he'll be pretty happy with that.
