A superb week with a nasty sting in the tail after missing 2 championship points (which would have taken to just outside the top 250), but how exciting to see her playing at such a high level again and I hope she gets the rewards. Given the AELTC happily give wc's to the 50k winners, I would hope that given (i) Ali won't need one, and (ii) Tara is, you know, British, they will look favourably on her. She has suffered two very narrow Wimby losses, really down to nerves more than anything, and is definitely capable of matching a large chunk of the field.
Onwards to Notts this evening with a very long drive in store, but hopefully she can continue this form over the weekend.
Unlucky for Tara today, after having 2 MPs for a straight sets win. Overall, a very good week, with a top 100 scalp, a win against Dodin, a run to the final, and every sign that she has really sorted out some of her problems on serve. Very encouraging start to the grass court season.
Hard to knock anything about this week from Tara. The CP weren't on her serve, and she didn't fail to serve it out, Riske just played those two points well enough on serve, in keeping with a match of lots of BP for both players, but few that were taken; combined they were 10/27 on BP, in 32 games.
Before this week Tara had 1 top 100 win, now she has 3.
And, the rest of the grass season is still to come with Tara heading in to it in pretty fine fettle, it seems
