Week 21 - ITF ($25K) - Incheon, Korea Rep. - Hard

The draw's not out yet but Tuesday's OoP reveals an intriguing R2 match between two players born in 1997:

L32: (8) Freya Christie WR 352 v Olivia Tjandramulia AUS WR 396 (=CH)

H2H 1-1, both in juniors in 2014 - Olivia won in 3 sets on hard in Thailand then Freya won in 3 sets in Roland Garros qualifying.

The draw in now up, with Harriet to play a qualifier.

Weirdly, they aren't playing doubles.

Both are now in the top 20 ranked teenagers, for doubles, in the world...

I'd guess they both want to get back, mid-week, if they lose the singles, and don't want to commit to maybe having to stay around for the doubles till the end.

Good luck, girls !

Glad to see Freya stopped the rot, and thanks too to Steven for the kind tidying up (meaning he deleted his comment a bit earlier, not mine, when we both posted the same update simultaneously!).

The qualifiers still have to be placed in the draw, as far as I can see, which means Harriet still doesn't have her R1 opponent for tomorrow, Wed, and one of Freya's potential R2 opponents will also be a qualifier.

Made harder work than needed there.

Hopefully Harriet keeps it going.

R2: (8) Freya Christie WR 352 vs Fatma AL NABHANI (OMA) WR 418 (CH 362 04/10/2010)
R2: Harriet DART (GBR) WR 494 vs Seung-Yeon HONG (KOR) WR 777 (CH 587 19/09/2011)

Good second round draws for both Brits, Freya's the tougher, but I wouldn't expect her to be too troubled.
