Katy: "When your strength is your movement but the courts a beach so you can't stay upright. All you gotta do is fight and we both fought." " I like these courts out here though but this week is something else! Defo don't like these ones but ahh well, same for everyone!"

Congrats to Katy! Next round opponent still to be decided. As Steven (and Katy) have noted she came back from 3 games down and 3 set points down in the first set, so a massive battling win on, umm, a rather beach like supposedly grass surface.
Katie, a convincing 6-4, 6-1 winner, through into the QFs, a result which sees her leapfrog Mandy as GB4, reestablished firmly in the top 300, at around WR280.
QF: (7) Katy Dunne WR 298 v Risa Ushijima (JPN) WR 708 (CH 697 in Feb)
Ushijima has just edged out the 4th seed, winning the 1st and 3rd set tiebreaks but getting bagelled in between! Katy played her in juniors in 2012, also in Japan (Nagoya) and won 3 & 3.

The battle for GB no.4 may have the desired ranking effect with all the players pushing each other on. Mandy/Katy/Tara/Laura/Freya all in with a shot and don't write out Gabi who has got nothing to defend for sometime and could catch them up
