Unsurprisingly, they look like players that have hardly played in three months. Very rusty, trouble even finding the court.
Played a much better game there though to break back.
Joss is doing little more than swinging her arm now on serve, no knee bend, and even then no serves in, very easy for the opponents to break, they only have had to play one point really on Joss' services to get 2 breaks from them.
If Geoffrey Boycott were commentating, he would by now doubtless be explaining that his grandmother could do better with a stick of rhubarb.

Kato the best player so far, full of energy at the net, is blameless as the Brits break back, Nara missing several times in the game.

I'm nit convinced Joss should be anywhere near the match court. She can barely move.

Anna is pretty bad. To be honest they look like they've turned up for the pay check and have lucked out with very poor opponents keeping the score line close.

I hope they can get healthy for the grass, they need to kick it up a gear.

Thought Hev and Nicole had a chance today. Pretty nip and tuck first set.

Definitely both very undercooked and hampered. It's been a bit sad to see them stall so completely this considerable last number of months now.
They play one of their best games to tie things again.

There's an alternative scoring option on the official site, then you have to refresh scores. Josanna won the tiebreak 7-5 and Gibbs/ Watson still 3-1

Well they won the tie break, but they obviously aren't fit or they would have played warm up tournaments.

Expecting a new GB no.1 in doubles as Joss and Anna have quite a bit to defend soon.
