Weeks 21-22 - French Open 2016 (clay)

I know Andy is being covered in the other section, but whilst this section exists would seem a bit silly not to have a thread.

Another pretty fortunate draw for Murray, who won't play a top 100 player until the 3rd round at the earliest and has avoided Nadal in his half.

Potential opponents:

R1: Stepanek (Q)
R2: Samper-Montana (Q) /Bourgue (WC)
R3: Karlovic (27) / Thompson
R4: Isner (15) / Paire (19) (/ Edmund?)
QF: Nishikori (5) / Gasquet (9) / Kyrgios (17)
SF: Wawrinka (3) / Raonic (8) / Cilic (10)

With the possible exception of Nishikori in the QF, that is about as good as it gets.

Having come through 3-6 3-6 6-0 6-3 7-5 against Stepanek over Monday and Tuesday, Andy is back in action quite soon today, Wednesday.

As at 12.30 BST, in the preceding match on Chatrier, Muguruza has won the first set vs Myrtille Georges 6-2

SF Wawarinka
Andy
1) attack wawarinka backhand
2)backhand straight to the line or drop shot( try not to backhand cross court )
3) return serve placement
4) try more aggressive return (don't often forehand slice) and determine to hold serve
Good luck Andy Murray

First RG final Andy congratulation
1) bring out joker comfort zone ( he the best covering the court)
2) 110% focus through the whole match even though distract in middle match.
3) Andy backhand should play more straight down the line or drop shot.
4) hold serve ( harder than Wawarinka this because Joker return serve is much better)
Good luck Andy

Hi Ace Asian

Looks like nobody has welcomed you to the board yet. Probably because most of us are posting about Andy in the Men's section for this tournament, rather than here.

Anyway, welcome from me.

I like your strategy, but these things are easier said than done. Let's hope Andy can pull this one off. That would leave just the AO for Andy to complete a career slam.
