Brilliant result, especially after the tough time he has been having recently.

An excellent win. Congratulations to him for reaching the 3rd round of a Grand Slam for the first time. (And congratulations to Steve Darcis, too, who after qualifying is giving Novak Djokovic quite a decent match.)

Very pleased for Aljaz, out of form heading in here, found his form in the 1st round, got the win, and with that improved form, got a big upset win against a guy in top form today. Nothing to lose in the next round.

L32:  (1) Novak Djokovic (SRB) WR 1 vs Aljaz Bedene WR 66

They have met once before: Djoko beat Aljaz by 3, 2 & 4 in the first round of last year's Oz Open.

Didn't realise that Leon Smith was working with Aljaz at the moment. Guessing it is just an RG thing and not more permanent ?

Really well done AB. Good win against a man who has made two clay finals on tour this year. He seems to have really got his confidence back. Yet more signs of what a difference Leon Smith seems able to make to people. Such a shame for him that his next match is not a preview to the Davis Cup coming up. I listened to a bit and really enjoyed the back and forth at the end of the fourth set and the last few games of the 5th. 20 odd aces too - that has to bode well for the grass!

I'm sure I heard someone say that the most 5 set matches someone has won in a slam to win the tourn is 3. So realistically, Andy can only afford one more 5 setter....

Andy vs Ivo should be a lunchtimeish start on Friday.

Second on Lenglen follwing Halep vs Osaka women's R3 match, which has an 11am start, 10 am BST
