What? My boring topic title didn't scare you away?
I thought it would be interesting to see the global patterns of events that took place on the Pro Circuit for an entire year, by surface, level region, country, month, week etc. So, I did, and it turns out, for once, I was right! It was interesting! But, then again, I'm a sad nerd.
If you think that might be interesting, and that just a tiny little bit, you might be a sad nerd too, you can see my results here, and play around for yourself.
I'm generally more interested in the Women's side of things, but I could easily enough do exactly the same thing for the Mens's side if there was sufficient interest.
What might be even more interesting would be to show where the Brit girls picked up their points - I don't have the slightest idea how that could be done as I don't know where you get your raw data from.
Fascinating - the first things that struck me (though no doubt they won't be the last if I carrying on looking at it much longer ) were how few ITF Pro events were held in the UK relative to other western and southern European countries of comparable size and that there is more of a clay/hard court season split than I thought there was, though there are events on both of those surfaces most weeks.

I'd recommend de-selecting 10ks from the "level" menu - this removes the Mediterranean resort 10ks, and gives a more revealing picture of which countries are investing in providing opportunities for their players...
