Such a shame, has Kyle retired at the end of the 2nd ?

100% right decision, just hoping there is no ligament damage, and a few days rest will do the trick. After last year, with what happened at the French and then how that injury affected his grass season, it'll be a killer blow, if this is any worse.

I went to take the rubbish out between sets and it had disappeared by the time I came back, so didn't see the retirement happen.

And with that fall, I fear Kyle's chances of making the Olympics have probably gone. Right now however, if that is all that happens, then we should be happy that the injury isn't any more serious. The fact that he carried on, albeit briefly, suggests he should be OK for the French Open. But he is probably going to have to make the L16 to make Rio. A last 32 spot would make it close, but maybe not close enough.

When I looked at the draw, I honestly thought that if Kyle could get through this one, he had a decent chance of going much deeper in this tournament.

What a shame. But very encouraging that he seemed to be going toe to toe with one of the game's greatest prospects. Hope he can recover soon.

Do we know if that's a key target for Kyle ? If so even more gutted for him, let's hope it's just the tiniest of sprains.

Yes, I thought that was very encouraging too.

Kyle's dad just said on Twitter, that it doesn't look serious, and Kyle is heading to Paris on Wednesday for RG.

Don't know if that is a key target for Kyle but it is for me.  If Kyle makes it, I will try and get down there to support.

Like you, highly relieved by the tweet from Kyle's dad.

Pathetic an absolutely ludicrous comment. No way Kyle should have continued at all IMO and no way anyone should be irked at the retirement. Djokovic at that age would have probably retired after the first set in anticipation of such an incident occurring.
