Heather defeated by rain as much as her opponent - not sure what she did to maintain focus during the rain break but maybe try something else next time...
Not sure the rain delay should have anything to do with the result, if a professional sports person can't keep their focus during a short rain delay, there's got to be alot of questions asked, certainly such a one sided set doesn't make any sense. But I didn't see the match, but I suspect KB came out firing in the decider, and probably would have come out firing irrespective of whether there had been a rain delay or not.
As Phil says iff the weather had any great effect then that's Heather's problem, though I rather doubt it particularly effected her. She's a pretty experienced pro. Maybe more on Bondarenko's side she got time to refocus, and while I didn't see it PaulM does more particularly point to Bondarenko being a totally different player after the rain break.
Very fluctuating but not so absolutely unusual for a women's match, even without interruptions, though more unusual for a Heather match.

With Heather out, and no British interest in French Open qualies, it's going to be a very quiet week for the British women this week. Hoping for a much busier one next week.

Hmmm, I'm not sure I agree with that. We've seen rain affect Fed, Rafa and Andy in the past. I have in mind one very memorable five setter between Roger and Rafa that wen t on for hours at Wimby.
Hev's nowhere near that standard, so I'm going to cut her some slack on this one. It is a shame she's out though.
I thought that was for the very specific reason that Goran's serve was phenomenal for the first set but after that he tired and was unable to keep it to quite the same high level. The long rain delays meant there were in effect three first sets.
