Both next round opponents for the Brits have been much higher ranked in the past, Lizarazo only a year ago.

Fran is on court now. Struggling to save serve at *4-3. 3 aces and 8 DFs to Fran so far; has saved 10/11 BPs so far too...

Early days but Fran takes the first set against the 5th seed, 6-4

Fran holds eventually, and does even better to hold again whilst serving for the set, 6-4. She has had twice as many serves as Shroff though, and had one less point. Suggests she will still have to battle hard if she wishes to win another set too..

Fran put up a fight but not surprised to see her lose the second set, so question now is what does she have left in the tank? 6-4 2-6

Harriet has also now started and is two breaks to the good 4-1

Downhill for Harriet in that set from that point, loses it 4-6. Fran struggling to stay in the third.

A huge fight from Fran and a very brave performance but she eventually goes down 6-4 2-6 3-6, over only 5 mins short of 3 hours. The final game itself went on for 10-15 mins, with Fran saving several match points, and having at least 1 BP herself to bring the set back onto serve. Not to be, but a great match.
