Such bad news for Evan. He really doesn't have any luck when it comes to injuries. He had such momentum at the back end of last season, winning a couple of Futures and it looked like he was destined for bigger and better things. Since then, he has hardly had the chance to play. I am gutted for him. I justs hope this is a minor setback and not another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Congrats to Jonny who made it through comfortably, despite the lack of balls this morning. And a much bigger congrats to Marcus Walters who from his own tweets, had to save MP before finally coming through in that 3rd set breaker.

After Evan drawing the top seed and then having to retire, the main draw continues to be cruel:

R1: Scott Clayton WR 764 v (q) Jonny O'Mara WR 724

R1: (q) Marcus Walters WR 2060 v (1) Pablo Vivero Gonzalez (ESP) WR WR 298 (CH 288 a couple of weeks ago)

Can we just draw a line through this week and start again please. As draws go, that is as bad as it gets.

Jonny has tweeted this morning that they finally have some sunshine after 3 days of rain, but play has been delayed because they have no tennis balls. That has to be a first.

It's not (see third from bottom post) http://britishtennis.activeboard.com/t15490886/week-8-futures-f1-15k-benin-city-nigeria/?page=4&sort=oldestFirst

It's going to be a long day again in Lisbon by the looks of it. Play started on time and lasted about 10 mins before they were off for rain again. Marcus is 3rd match on whilst Jonny v Scott is 4th match, so every chance they may not even get on today.

That's a respectable score against a top 300 player.

Well done, young Marcus, on a very good week.

It appears to be raining again in Lisbon. What terrible weather they are having at the moment. It should be noted that last weeks 10k, ended up having to play QFs, SFs and the Final all on the same day. And that wasn't until the Monday of this week. They had to play 2 sets and an MTB in singles just to get the tournament finished.

This weeks tournament is going the same way. Thursday lunchtime, and we are barely half way through the 1st round and it is still raining according to Jonny's tweets.

I really do dislike these Brit v Brit situations. Scott and Jonny must know each other's game inside out.

So far, Scott is adapting better and leads *3-0 with a double break.
