That was Amanda's 299th career win, as per her WTA stats, and her 23 points from this week are now the 3rd best of her career.
A further win would make this her best week of her career, and shatter her long-time career goal of breaking into the top 300 (which has been her stated aim for a couple of years now).
An oddity: she was tied on points with Laura one week; moved up to tie with Freya; tied with Laura again at the start of this match; now tied with Tara for GB4. Hope she won't be too lonely for long in the 200s.

She's made 300, but nothing with a 2 in front, which will seem much nicer. Her next potential opponent though is Viktorija GOLUBIC, the 4th seed and ranked 134 in the world. Soooo it will take something a little more to make this a record breaking week for Mandy (though of course she beat a higher ranked opponent in her last tourny)...
Great from Mandy, she wins comfortably in the end, 6-3 6-3. Just watched a few games at the end; my impression was the standard was not as high as in the R1 match. Mandy's job seemed to be to keep the ball in play and eventually her opponent would make an error.
Another 9 points, takes her up to 23 for the tournament - and as Wimdledont pointed out earlier, level now with Tara on points. One more win to break into the 200s. The match to decide her next opponent has yet to go on court.
Having seen Manon previously, she has a very similar style to Mandy in that she is good defensively and waits for her opponent to make mistakes. I expected Mandy to be better on clay.
Good to see Mandy getting back to the levels we knew she was capable of.
As said, overall Mandy was far more aggressive than Manon in that match, and seems to be be playing more aggressively in general, particularly off her forehand.
I think it's something she's been working on, and is paying dividends.
Mandy does seem to have stepped up to a new level recently. For years she seemed trapped between 10Ks and 25Ks, winning nearly every match she played at 10K and losing most of her matches at 25K. Now she is competing successfully at higher levels, it will be interesting to see how far she can take it.
There's surely an argument for putting Carreras on the Fed Cup team if Broady isn't up for it. Watson, Konta, Robson and Carreras - particularly if we play ties on clay.
Golubic was absolutely outstanding in the Fed Cup ties played most recently, beating both Bacsinszky & Karo Pliskova, from a set down.
If she's playing anything like she did that weekend, Mandy's already done well to get the two games.
