I'm a little confused by the system now. So players have to enter the MD and QD seperately? And what is the cut off for MD as opposed to QD (timewise). Can you be playing a QD and if another MD comes up take up the other MD? So could Alljaz play qualies at Queens but then play Halle if that comes up in the meantime?
You can only compete in one tournament a week.
If you are in a main draw, you are automatically withdrawn from all other events.
Slightly different for ITF, if you are in any draw, main or qualifier or multiple your highest preference takes priority, but you have the option to withdraw from the other comps before the withdrawal date.
If you enter a MD and are not certain of making the cut you have to actually enter the QD as well to be included. You do not get automatically placed in qualifying if you miss out on a MD spot as Aljaz did in Madrid and can therefore end up with an unwanted week off. If you play qualifying and are eliminated at one tournament it still counts for the following week and so you cannot play qualifying in Queens and then jump into the MD at Halle. In this particular case Aljaz is very likely to make the cut for both tournaments but as Paulisi noted, as soon as he makes it into one he is automatically withdrawn from the other. He is closer to the MD in Halle and so best guess is that is where he will end up although he can choose to withdraw before making the MD if he really thinks he is going to get in at Queens and would prefer to play there.

Will be interesting to see who gets the MDWC and QWC for Birmingham and who gets MDWC for Ilkley
Hev, Naomi and Robbo are all in qualifying at present and only 2 will get a main draw wildcard. Is Heather fit enough to play? Is Robbo good enough to play? personally she should only get QWC. How many QWC are there for Birmingham? It's now only a 32 MD. Tara, Freya & Katie Swan most likely.
For Ilkley - four from - Katy, Tara, Katie S, Freya, Harriet, Sam M, Lisa W and Katie B
After a week of glorious weather in Nottingham the forecast for Birmingham next week is not at all great. That tournament is rarely lucky with the weather these days it seems.

According to yesterday's Times, she pulled something at the French and could only train for 4 days before latest match, but couldn't feel injury during that match. Her post match comments related to being under prepared on grass.
Bedene is up to 1st alt for Queen's and so will get in unless the 4th wild card is used (Djokovic the only person able to receive it).
Monfils withdrew at Halle yesterday where Bedene was already 1st alt. Nothing has been officially announced but I assumed that meant he was in Halle and could not stay on the list at Queens. I may be wrong, maybe he has the option to withdraw his name at the point the spot opens up but I am not sure of the rules around this, I am sure he can't withdraw after accepting to go and play somewhere else. Maybe one of the more intelligent members of the board can interpret the rules for me
