A second top 10 scalp of the year for Jo, and her 4th in total.
In the last year, she is 4-4 against the top 10! (4-5 lifetime).
More than the tennis - which was magical at times - it was the strength of character, mental fortitude and resilience shown in that second set when Vinci started to play well, and the crowd got 'interesting', that impressed me most today. Jo didn't shrink in the cauldron atmosphere, but overcame it all, even when her own levels dipped. Really mature and tough performance.
More cat and mouse in the second set, but exceptionally well played Jo. Look forward to seeing her in the women's top 10 soon, Jo certainly has the game - and mental attitude - for it.

Got to be happy with that, I don't think she's 100% happy with her footwork on this surface, but when you play like that it doesn't really matter. Picking up points during this stage of the season massive to keep up the momentum.
