The other tournament this week in Casablanca Andy could have been 1st or 2nd seed but once again he wanst to play the big boys.
Edit - this is not the week after DC (obviously, now!) but the week after Monte Carlo i.e. week 17.
Edit 2 - updated to evening 21.04.06; I don't seem to have the option to post in colour so my amendments are in bold. Feel free to colour them, Michael! (Madeline)
Well Federer's not there at least! Plus he should be able to beat everyone on that list apart from one or two - probably nadal.
Of the real big guns there: Nadal, Rafael ESP - toughie, doubt it unless he pulls off a stunning performance or Nadal doesn't turn up Nalbandian, David ARG - Should have beaten him at wimbledon and could do it maybe - though Nalbandian could jsut turn up and blitz him Davydenko, Nikolay Rus - Took him to three sets this week could go either way Ljubicic, Ivan CRO - Same as davydenko Coria, Guillermo ARG - Been away from the tour for a while, rusty and very beatable Gaudio, Gaston ARG - Beatable Ferrer, David ESP - Same as Gaudio Johansson, Thomas SWE - Would (?) have beaten him if he didn't get injured i think.
All this is based on Murray giving a good account of himself but beating them is not beyond him. Anyone else on the list is not far superior than Andy. Soon he should be one of the "big boys"
Oooh it would be fun to go up to Barcelona that week, but I'm going to Rome the week after for a couple of days, don't think uni would be so impressed if I just didn't show up for two weeks after Easter hols... might stay there for a day when I fly in and get the train down to Castellon on Wednesday... would see some first round matches on the Tuesday. I'll have to see!
Thread moved from Andy Murray's schedule to Latest Andy Murray news.
Hopefully Andy can get a good draw for this event and hopefully after playing doubles he'll be more used to the clay and can keep the ue count down as that really hurt him in the singles. I wonder if Tim has got a wc, he definately needs the practise on the clay and it'd be great if he and Andy could play doubles again.
Draw should be out on Saturday.
By the way, who's the latest belle in your avatar mkkreuk ?
What's the latest news on a possible trip to ATP Barcelona, Kate ? When you said you're going to Rome, is that for the masters series event ?

Um Barcelona won't happen, I just can't afford it. I did consider staying a couple of nights as I fly in there on Monday, but decided it wasn't worth the money. Rome (The Masters Series) is very likely not to happen either unfortunately, for the same reason - money. I haven't finally decided on that but it's highly unlikely I'll go. I'm thinking my next tennis will be Queens.
Hooray, the board is working again at last - though it looks a bit odd still.
The Barcelona draw is out, Andy has Spanish wildcard Marcel Granollers-Pujol first round. I think I have seen that name playing in Challengers. Andy SHOULD win.
But second round - number 5 seed David Ferrer, who is right in form. Ah well.
