surely leicester city are still top contenders for team of the year, gb cycling team are going to make it close though!
Wales must be in with a shout too.
Huge credit to Wales. But not only were Leicester City ultimately actual winners but I do really think that their achievement last year in winning the 38 match Premier League was by a distance the more remarkable against Wales great tournament achievement and something that few could possibly have envisaged for any team below the generally accepted elite or relative elite, particularly in this monied era. To have looked close to relegation certainties in the previous season just adds o it all.
Leicester's is the to me much the bigger "wow" which I am sure would be well reflected in the prior odds of them winning the Premier League against Wales reaching the semi finals ( or indeed even winning the Euros, though in that event yes there would then to me be very much more of a contest ).
That's not to say that Wales are not actually in with some chance in what I believe is essentially an "experts" committee choice. Maybe the awards not taking place in Wales ( Birmingham I believe ) lessens some temptations. Just personally for me Leicester by a distance over Wales and probably still would be my overall choice.
