Funny that almost as soon as Kyle wrapped up MP the PA system started playing Queen's 'We are the Champions'. Not entirely true in this instance as there is only one winner.... And a very deserved one at that. Very well done to Kyle!
Krajinovic didn't quite tank at the end, but after Kyle held in a tough opening game of the 2nd set, his head went down and his game went to pieces. He only won 11 points in the 2nd set and at least 5 or 6 of those were in that 1st game where he had BP.
Dominant from Kyle and had he taken a couple of those BPs early in the 1st, that set could easily have gone the same way.
The dream of Rio is still on, but it's still going to be tough.
Terrific week. Another GB Challenger winner. Over to you Evo.

Second challenger title of the year ( after Dallas final win over Evo ) and one RU in Hawaai in addition to his Buenos Aires Challenger title in November, which one can argue is this season, it counts to the race
Not a bad day for Brits on the dirt.

These 90 points may also see Kyle take out his CH ranking - just. It's going to be close.
Just as a matter of interest, what is his record in TBs this year. I seem to remember someone saying he was very much in positive territory. Whatever the score before, add another one to his record today.
Fantastic from Kyle, who only faced one break point all match
It's his 5th Challenger singles title (putting him outright 2nd in the GB 21st century list behind Boggo, edging ahead of James and, for now, Dan) and brings GB up to 30 this century in total bit.ly/challfin - but 11 of those have been won in the last 16 months! No wonder we now have 4 in the top 90

I make it that adding one takes Kyle to 8-1 in TBs won this year, 7 in a row since he lost one vs Dzumhur at the Aussie Open, He's increasingly become a rather good match player as well as rather good generally
All in all a very satisfactory week for Kyle and I think it sums up his progress that I don't have much more than that to say*. On this surface I expected him to beat the 5 players that were put in front of him and he did so without too much fuss. He is now well in side the top 100 even taking off his Roland Garros points from last year so it removes any pressure that he might have felt on that front.
* With the exception of saying thank you to Kyle for helping me to make quite a bit of money at the expense of bet365
The fact that dan and Kyle are where they are before the grass court season is really exciting. As long as they don't have to play each other, they could earn some good points in the next couple of months
A very good week for Kyle, a QF place last year lead to success at RG qualies and a first round RG win, this year who knows but I still feel he destined to be the UKs first indigenous dirt baller (ie the red stuff will be his best surface) I presume he is staying in Rome for a bit of hitting practice?
Very excited about the rest of May and early June!
