Luke is holding his own, so far, against the interloper Q, ranked 313 (!)
Following Jamie P also coming up against a world top 300 player in blinkin' qualifiers, it's doubly irritating that the same thing has basically happened to Luke.
(Of course, at least he made R2. It's even more annoying for those who lost to Jasika in the Qs, and in R1).
For those who maybe didn't see it, Jasika is also the youngster who dramatically 'resigned' last week, after a defeat.
Thanked everybody for their support, said it wasn't his 'dream' any more, etc. etc.
Sounds mean but I'm hoping that Jasika's head is in a rather funny place at the moment (see incident above) and this might knock the desire out of him a bit and he'll roll over .....
Jasika's the USO Junior champ too, beating Halys in the final last year.
Must be something about the USO juniors and the champions losing interest in tennis...
Yeah I remember some guy called Andrew Murray winning it one year. H. Watson looked quite promising after she won too Where are they now?! :)
Tbh TMH I dont recall who won there in recent years other than them and Oli G (thinking of his talent just sitting there unused still pains me) - who else were you referring to?
I think you're reading a bit too much into my comment. It was merely a tongue-in-cheek reference to Golding, given the similarities between his plight and Jasika's recent comments.
